8. PUBLIC HEARING: ZONING (C9-80-75) LACAMBRA - CAMINO SECO, UR TO R-2, CHANGE OF CONDITION

Two written approvals and fifty-five written protests were received for the original case through November 10, 1987. No additional approvals or protests have been received to date. Sixteen of the protests are within the 150-foot notification area. These exceed 20 percent by area to the west, north and east.(b) Hearing on a request to modify condition 1.g amending the one-story height restriction to allow lofts for a 52 unit townhouse project on 4.66 acres located on the west side of Camino Seco Road south of Collette Street. Applicant: Ami Kawa of Alka Enterprises, L.L.C., on behalf of the property owners Fidelity National Title Agency. The City Manager recommends approval of the requested change of rezoning condition and adoption of the ordinance presented, subject to the following condition:
1.g. Two-story development along the north and west property lines restricted to loft units as indicated on the plans submitted to the Mayor and Council on September 22, 1997.
(c) Ordinance No. 8959 relating to zoning; amending Ordinance No. 6848; changing condition 1.g in rezoning Case No. C9-80-75, Lacambra - Camino Seco, UR to R 2.
A three-fourths majority vote will be necessary to adopt the subject ordinance changing the rezoning condition.
