Who Are We
Downtown areas of cities generally are a reflection of the entire community and should be a welcoming attractive place for both residents and visitors alike. Our relatively small but distinctive downtown encompasses a diverse array of retail business owners, neighborhoods, charter schools, entertainment venues, professional offices, and non-profit social service agencies.

Additionally, through recent public and private efforts, our downtown is on its way to providing the community with new attractions, housing opportunities, and commercial development as well as showcasing the already important art and historic elements of Tucson.

Our Downtown City Team is made up of representatives from 17 City departments committed to working together as a team to provide efficient and responsive public services to the downtown area. We are proactively taking ownership of the downtown environs of our community.

As a result, the Team identified specific issues of concern and focus unique to our geographical area:

a) safety and security, specifically regarding the Ronstadt Transit Center

b) accessibility, such as the Stone Avenue gateway

c) livability/aesthetics, such as Congress Street property maintenance and code enforcement

d) services regarding quality of life

e) future growth and development affecting the adequacy of interdepartmental communication.

Our team members intend to collaboratively work on issues such as these and create solutions to make downtown a better place for the entire community.

We also solicit community input regarding any issues or needs that should be addressed through our interdepartmental team approach. We look forward to hearing from you.
