  • Description:
    Facilitates communication between the City and small businesses. 8 year term limit.

    Maximum Number of Members: 17

    Meeting Location:
    Mayor and Council Chambers, 1st Floor, City Hall, 255 W. Alameda

    Meeting Time: 2009: 4th Thursday of each month, at 3:00 p.m. (Except: 11/19 & 12/17)

    Membership Requirements:
    Seventeen members. The Mayor and each Council Member shall appoint two members; one at-large and one by ward; three members shall be appointed jointly by the Mayor and Council.

    A member of the Pima County Small Business Comission shall be an ex-officio member of the Commission.

    The individual ward appointments shall come from companies located within the geographical boundaries of the ward with no more than fifty employees. If the company is not located within the boundaries of the ward, the appointee must live in the ward.

    The individual at large appointments shall come from companies with no more than one hundred employees.

    Members must be company owners or managers from companies located within the City of Tucson. Members shall be from companies having no more than one hundred employees, calculated on the basis of full time equivalency at the time of the member's appointment. Members shall, to the extent possible, broadly represent different segments of the business community including manufacturing; hospitality/restaurants; retail; lending; export; professional occupations; service; real estate/development and construction.

    Individual appointments are coterminous with appointer but the three joint M/C appointments serve 2 year staggered terms.
