The elections in the fall of 2004 generated more youth interest in the election system than any election since 1971, the first election in which 18-year-old voters were eligible to vote. Still, youth voter turnout in the State of Arizona is among the lowest in the United States. Are you looking for a way to encourage interest in the election process among your students? Are you concerned that hearing the "register-to-vote" message from teachers doesn’t quite go far enough?
The City of Tucson, City Clerk’s Office has a team of local college students prepared to talk with your students about the election process. The goal of our presentation is to increase the youth voter turnout rate, regardless of ideology or party affilliation.
Below, you will find a link to the PowerPoint Presentation that serves as the basis for our presentation. The information we share is by no means limited to what you will see. You will also find a link that will give you an example of evaluations that we have received from teachers throughout the Tucson area in the past year. Finally, there is a link that will give you contact information for us. We certainly look forward to working with you in the very near future!
