COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT

The Housing and Community Development Department is responsible for the planning and administration of federal programs for low and middle income neighborhoods and families. Funding sources include: Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Program; HOME Program; and Homeless Programs

The Department supports the Metropolitan Housing Commission and the Community Development Advisory Committee, citizen groups that provide community input for City policy and appropriation of funds. It has also been providing support to the City of Tucson Industrial Development Authority as it seeks to broaden its role in the community.
