ABOP (Anti-freeze, Batteries, Oil, Paint, Computers) Los Reales has a permanent
ABOP collection site open during landfill hours at the main entrance across from the scale house. This is part of the City/County Household Hazardous Waste
Disposal program.
Residential customers may bring, at no charge:
- Antifreeze
- Batteries
- Oil (maximum five gallons)
- Paint (maximum 25 gallons)
- Computers (one personal computer per household) For multiple computers call 623-7162.
- Non-working televisions. New! Please recycle working televisions, more info (pdf).
- The ABOP site cannot accept business-generated waste. For information about hazardous waste generated by small businesses, please call 690-5749. For general information about ABOP, call Customer Service, 791-3171.
Household Hazardous Waste Disposal Many hazardous materials have become commonplace in households and businesses. To keep these
materials out of the landfill, the City of Tucson and Pima County jointly provide a place where residents and small businesses may bring hazardous items for recycling, exchange, or safe disposal.
The main Household Hazardous Waste program (HHW) site and three outreach sites offer free drop-off service to the public.
- HHW Main Site, 2440 W. Sweetwater Dr. 8 a.m. to 12 noon every Friday and Saturday
These three outreach sites are open from 8 a.m. to 12 noon on the first Saturday every month:
- Eastside City Hall, 7575 E. Speedway Blvd.
- Tucson Water Plant #2, 1102 W. Irvington Rd.
- Park & Ride lot on Ina Rd., one block west of Oracle
These materials are accepted:
- paint
- cleaners
- acids
- pool chemicals
- lawn & garden chemicals
- drain openers
- auto fluids
- glues
- flammable products
- pesticides
- anything marked: toxic, poison, danger, acid, or caustic

The Small Business Waste Assistance Program (SBWAP) provides assistance to small businesses seeking to manage their hazardous waste.
For information on disposal of materials other than municipal solid waste (i.e., process manufacturing waste, petroleum-contaminated soil, asbestos, etc.) call 791-3171.
