Painted Hills Natural Resource Park (Former Ore
Mill Site)
City of Tucson-Environmental Services, with our consultants, is investigating a
former ore mill located northwest of the intersection of Speedway Blvd. and Silverbell
Rd. To date, three investigations have been completed: a geophysical investigation
(to look for voids and possible mine shafts that could pose physical hazards),
a soil quality investigation to evaluate metal concentrations in soil and an archeological report. Copies of the completed reports can be viewed at the links below.
