Increase force by 40 police officers. The police force was increased by 40 officers. A total of 105 officers have graduated this fiscal year. Vacant positions at the start of the year were filled first, then recruits filled Financial Sustainability Plan positions.
Add 14 support staff. 13 of the 14 positions have been filled, including an aircraft mechanic, a community services officer, two crime scene specialists, and a crime analyst. A police records supervisor and two records specialists were hired for the Records Section. Additional support staff were hired for the Office of Professional Standards, the Special Investigations Division, and the Evidence Section. A systems analyst position remains vacant.
