2. Presentation: Pima County Regional Flood Control
“Flood Control and GIS: Managing Floodplains in Pima County with GIS"
Terry Hendricks, Chief Hydrologist and Kenneth Maits, Senior GIS Analyst; this fun and energetic Tag team gave a very informative and entertaining presentation about the relationship with GIS and Floodplains. Their presentation included an overview of the current uses of GIS at Regional Flood Control as well as future planned developments to improve floodplain management and post-flood recovery. Topics covered include, changes in floodplain management caused by the advent of GIS, use of GIS data to track and monitor flood control infrastructure, post-flood damage assessment and GIS and inter-jurisdictional data sharing and the Combined Map Repository.

3. Business
- ePortal update - Steve Whitney: The Web Portal PowerPoint draft presentation has been posted to the Co-op website under the Presentations link, and is titled Web Portal Presentation. Note that the slide on "Who would use the plans on the Web Portal" needs more content, noted by red (NEED MORE HERE) flags. We also need more information on what types of features folks pull off of development plans and subdivision plats. For example, utility features such as water, sewer, etc. Please review and send feedback to Steve Whitney.
- City Sync Committee - Bill Marum: The City Sync group has added layer relationships among layers used by TDOT to its layer relationship table. For TDOT, many of the layers they use are related in some way to the stnetall shapefile.
- GDB Subcommittee - Steve Whitney: ArcGIS Server has been set up to test distributed editing of the street network by jurisdictions other than PCDOT, and this testing is proceeding. Linear Referencing Systems (LRS) is the other big topic that we're currently focusing on, and most likely multiple LRS' will be created for the street network to accommodate various themes, such as number of lanes, speed limits, bike routes, bus routes, etc.
- Training - Dave Koss: The Co-op will be working with DM (Cody Cohen) and Pima County (Steve Whitney) to conduct an Intro to ArcGIS class at the cost of materials about ($115).
- GIS Intern - Dave Koss: The Coop has begun the process of hiring a GIS intern. The intern will work out of the Public Works building and will be available for various regional projects as decided by the Coop membership.
- ArcInfo Licenses -Dave Koss: The Coop will be purchasing two more floating ArcInfo licenses after July 1 to add to the 9 that are currently available. These licenses are available for use by City of Tucson employees.
- Budget - Dave Koss: We have about $5,000.00 available for hardware in this fiscal year and it was suggested that the Coop purchase mobile devise (ie Palm / GPS) for use by the Coop intern. Please email any suggestions to one of the Co-chairs.
4. Open Floor
- Tiernan Erickson handed out some of his resumes and spoke briefly on his enthusiastic desire in working with GIS technology for FREE this summer.
- Don Ijams mentioned the addressing issue with DSD and asked if anyone had any questions or concerns pertaining to this matter, if so, please contact Don.
The next Co-op meeting has changed for this month only to:
