February Meeting Minutes – 5/20/2008

1. Presentation
Josh Pope – presented information on the work he is doing at Urban Planning to assist the Historic Preservation office in its work. One of the tools he has created is a web-based interactive map which includes subdivisions examined in the WWII Context Study. These neighborhoods meet the age threshold of the National Register. With the interactive map, one can easily look at construction dates for individual parcels within each subdivision. An average age of the structures is also calculated.
2. Orthophoto Project
Manny Rosas reported that the flight was conducted in early April. He expects to have the product available by late September, early October. They will be looking at some samples in August and discuss any issues with the contractor prior to obtaining the finals.
3. GIS Coop Website – Blanca Espino
Blanca Espino has volunteered to help revise/update the COOP website. She would welcome any suggestions, comments or ideas you might have for improving the site. Please e-mail her at: Blanca.espino@tucsonaz.gov
5. Announcements
Steve Whitney was unable to attend today. He will have an update on Eportal at our next meeting. If you are experiencing any difficulty access the GIS library, please let him know.
