Director Of Tucson Water Accepts Position In Phoenix

David Modeer, Director of Tucson Water, will leave his position of 10 years with the City of Tucson in April 2008 to become the Director of Water Services with the City of Phoenix.

"As much as I regret leaving Tucson Water, our employees, and this community, this opportunity in Phoenix allows me to remain in Arizona and continue to build on state and regional sustainability efforts," said David Modeer.

"David's direction of Tucson Water during the past ten years has allowed the City's Water Utility to become a leader in Arizona.  His contributions have also had significant impact on the municipal water industry, and as a Pima County representative on the Central Arizona Water Conservation District Board," said Mike Hein, City Manager.  "We will certainly miss his professionalism and dedication.  I know the entire staff joins me in congratulating David and wishes him the best in his new position."

The City of Tucson is considering options for an interim appointment and national recruitment.
