Join us for Tucson’s first
Sustainability Living Library
Saturday, March 21, 2009
Himmel Park Branch Library
1035 N Treat Ave.
Tucson, AZ 85716
1:00-5:00 p.m.
The City of Tucson’s Office of Conservation and Sustainable Development and the Himmel Park Branch Library will host Tucson’s first Sustainability Living Library. A Living Library is an event where people are the books. When somebody checks out a “book” from the Living Library, they are borrowing another person for 30 minutes to learn about the subject they represent. This event is part of the global Living Library Network which has hosted over 100 events in dozens of countries around the world. The Living Library model was developed in Copenhagen, Denmark in 2000.
Tucson’s Living Library will have a sustainability theme - the first of its kind in the world - where each person or “book” will represent a different sustainability topic.
