ANNOUNCES CENTER HOUR CUTS

Tucson Parks and Recreation Department announces changes in recreation center operating hours to accommodate reductions to the Department’s Fiscal Year 2009 budget.

The reduction in weekday and weekend operating hours, effective Sunday, Nov. 2, 2008, was carefully planned to be distributed equitably throughout the City so as to minimally affect the ability to provide recreational services to the entire community.

Larger centers – Udall, Clements, Randolph, El Pueblo and Northwest – will remain open on Saturdays and be closed on Sundays. All other centers will be closed Saturday and Sunday.

Sunday leisure classes, the Kid Kreation program and confirmed facility reservations will continue to be accommodated at centers where hours have changed.
