BABY BOOMER CONFERENCE APRIL 17-18 ADDRESSES SENIOR ISSUES
Tucson Parks and Recreation hosts a Boomers and Beyond Conference April 17-18 at the Holiday Inn, 4550 S. Palo Verde Blvd.
The event, being held 8 a.m.-6 p.m. April 17 and 8:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. April 18, will focus on recreational senior issues, including healthy aging, programming for seniors, injury/suicide prevention and caregiving.
Keynote speakers will be: Colin Milner, CEO International Council on Active Aging; Christine Katzenmeyer, executive director, Colorado Consortium for Older Adult Wellness; and
Dr. Richard Gitelson, director of gerontology, ASU West Department of Recreation and Tourism Management.
Conference fees, which include two breakfasts and one lunch, are $125 prior to April 12; $150 after that date. Attendees can also choose from 15 breakout sessions focusing on specific topics impacting seniors.
Partner agencies include: Arizona Parks and Recreation Association, Pima Council on Aging, Arizona Division of Aging and Adult Services, Arizona Department of Health Services and the University of Arizona Center on Aging.
