CEREMONY WILL HONOR CITY 'S NEWEST ADOPT-A-PARK GROUP APRIL 14
Himmel Park , 1000 N. Tucson Blvd. , will become the City of Tucson 's 122nd active Adopt-a-Park site Saturday, April 14 at 11:15 a.m. when an official recognition ceremony marks the occasion.
As the adopting agency, The Tucson Prunes - Take Two, an entertainment/dance
performance group, will perform regular clean-ups, provide condition reports and alert officials of emergency needs at the park, which covers more than 23 acres and features basketball courts, tennis courts, soccer fields, playground areas, public library and exercise course.
Participating in the ceremony will be Nina Trasoff, Ward 6 council member; Fred Gray, director, Tucson Parks and Recreation; Bill Druke, Tucson Prunes president; and B. J. Cordova, Tucson Clean & Beautiful director of development and community outreach.
The Adopt-A-Park program provides community service opportunities to unite the public and private sectors in making Tucson a cleaner and safer place to live.
