NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Planning Commission of the City of Tucson will hold a public hearing on Wednesday, October 7, 2009, at or after 7:00 p.m., in the Mayor and Council Chambers of City Hall, 255 West Alameda, Tucson, Arizona, at which time and place all interested persons will have an opportunity to appear and be heard in relation to the following:

MILES NEIGHBORHOOD PLAN

This is a public hearing before the Planning Commission to consider the plan for the Miles neighborhood, which is bounded by Broadway Boulevard on the north, the Arroyo Chico on the south, Kino Boulevard on the east, and the Arroyo Chico Wash and Park Avenue on the west. The proposed plan is an advisory document to inform rezonings, including development plans, subdivision plats, and Flexible Lot Developments; vacation of City property; Capital Improvement Project design; and variance requests. The Plan is also intended to function as a strategic plan for the Neighborhood, with goals, policies, and strategies to assist in the implementation of neighborhood physical and organizational improvements. Currently the Miles Neighborhood is under the guidance of the 1986 City of Tucson Arroyo Chico Wash Plan. The Miles Neighborhood Plan further refines content of the Area Plan with respect to the Miles Neighborhood. It is intended that the Neighborhood Plan would supersede the Area Plan.

A copy of the Draft Miles Neighborhood Plan can be obtained from the Comprehensive Planing Division of the City of Tucson Department of Housing and Community Development Tucson, Arizona, or on the City’s web site at www.tucsonaz.gov/planning (click on Miles Neighborhood link).
