As of January 16, 2008, impact fees for roads for non-residential development are now out of the lower rate phase-in period and are being assessed at 100% of the established rates.
Police, Fire, and Public Facilities Impact fees for residential development became effective also on January 16, 2008 (at 100%, no lower rate phase in period was adopted for these fees). Police, Fire, and Public Facilities Impact Fees for non-residential development will not become effective until January 16, 2009.

Impact fees are charged to new development as a means of paying for the facilities and infrastructure needed to serve that development. The City of Tucson currently assesses impact fees for water, roads, and parks. New fees for police, fire, and public facilities have recently been approved and will go into effect in January 2008.
