Design Guidelines Manual Update and Revision

The goal of this project is to update and revise the existing Design Guidelines Manual into a clearer and more usable document, which will be adopted by the Mayor and Council as official policy. Click here for more information.

Community-Based Design Programs

These programs encourage a broad base of community participation and awareness of urban design through partnerships with public, private, and non-profit groups.

The Tucson Community Design Academy is a 12-week program dedicated to educating members of the community who would like to take an active role in encouraging better urban design for their neighborhoods and the city as a whole.

Building from the Best of Tucson recognizes and awards high-quality and innovative design in the community. Urban Planning and Design staff participate in the nominating and judging of award submissions.
