Tucson Police Dept Recruiting - How to Apply
The Application Process


PLEASE NOTE:  The process must be open and the job posted (on the City website) before you will be able to apply. 

STEP 1: 

Go to the link located at and click on REGISTER TO APPLY ONLINE.  Register with the City of Tucson.

STEP 2: 

Now that you have registered you will be able to apply for the position of POLICE OFFICER RECRUIT on the same website.  Go to the tab that says VIEW JOB OPENINGS and click on APPLY NOW for the position of  POLICE OFFICER RECRUIT.  Fill out the on-line application and submit it.

STEP 3:  

The pre-screen questionnaire can be located uunder the JOB DETAILS tab under POLICE OFFICER RECRUIT on the city's employment webpage.  Fill out the PRE-SCREEN QUESTIONNAIRE.  After completing it, submit it to TPD Human Resources ( as a word document and in the subject line put "POR 0214".


This completes the steps to applying.  You will get a confirmation e-mail within 48 hours from TPD Backgrounds after we have received your Pre-screen questionnaire.  If you do not get the confirmation e-mail then we did not receive the pre-screen questionnaire.  You will have to go back into the system and re-submit it.
