
Getting to and around is Downtown is easy, thanks to a growing number of
transportation options. Sun Tran, the City’s award-winning bus service, has
several routes that include Downtown, and the bustling Ronstadt Transit
Center is conveniently located in the heart of Downtown at the corner of Sixth
Avenue and Congress Street. The Greyhound bus station will soon have a
permanent home next to the Historic Depot on Toole Avenue, enhancing
Downtown’s role as Tucson’s transportation hub.
Whether you arrive Downtown by bus or car, free Tucson Inner City Express
Transit (T.I.C.E.T.) shuttles will take you anywhere you want to go. With
plenty of tree-lined sidewalks, a mixture of historic and modern architecture
and lively street activity, Downtown is very pedestrian-friendly. If the
weather’s nice you may want to enjoy a pleasant walk to your destination.
The 750-space Pennington Street Garage is now open for business at the
corner of Pennington Street and Sixth Avenue. The garage is equipped with
state-of-the-art technology to allow you to enter and exit quickly, and a solar
lighting system keeps it will lit at night Check out the parking map to the
right for other convenient garage locations. There’s also metered street
parking on most Downtown streets. A recent re-striping project created 150 additional parking spaces along Congress Street and Broadway Boulevard.
Río Nuevo includes a number of future transportation improvements for
Downtown, including new parking facilities, a new Fourth Avenue
