Report litter thrown from vehicles statewide. Coordinated by Arizona Clean & Beautiful.

AZ Utilities Renewable Energy Education

City of Tucson Environmental Services, 791-3171
Provides residential and commercial garbage collection, and also collects recyclables through the TucsonRecycles program. City of Tucson Environmental Services also operates Los Reales Landfill, and within this facility there are areas set up for the proper disposal of specific kinds of waste.

City of Tucson Housing and Community Development Department, 792-CITY (792-2489)
Assists community groups within the City of Tucson to develop and maintain active neighborhood associations, weed & seed grant programs, and connecting neighborhood groups needing additional resources for their area. This department also enforces City of Tucson code sections related to junk vehicles, illegal dumping, weeds and vegetation overgrowth in properties, loose trash and exterior storage.

    Coordinates removal of graffiti at residential, commercial and public sites in unincorporated Pima County and smaller incorporated towns. Additional resources may also be available through the town governments of Marana, Oro Valley, and Sahuarita.)

Pima County Department of Environmental Quality (PDEQ), 740-3340
PDEQ provides services and education related to air and water quality, hazardous materials, waste minimization, and pollution prevention. PDEQ identifies and responds to environmental issues by providing public service that includes monitoring, permitting, enforcement, information, education, and business assistance. PDEQ operates the Clean Air, Illegal Dumping, and Pima County Storm Water programs. PDEQ also regulates waste haulers operating in Pima County.

The Pima County Health Department's mission is to exercise a leadership role in protecting health, preventing disease and promoting community well being through adoption of core public health functions and national standards. The department coordinates reporting of areas including those with standing water or high mosquito activity, as well as many other educational programs related to public health.

A Master Composter is available for consultation every Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Home Composting Demonstration Site located at the Tucson Botanical Gardens, 2150 N. Alvernon Way. Workshops on composting are presented periodically. Tucson Organic Gardeners membership is available. Included with membership is a subscription to the "Composter" newsletter. Compost bins are available for sale. Composting videos are also available to borrow through the Tucson-Pima County Public Library system. Please call for more information.
