E Pluribus Recycles! Play:
*** School Education Program*** This fun, interactive play is designed for students in Kindergarten through 4th Grades.

Starring E Pluribus Pack Rat, alongside Mark Parker the Landfill Environmental Engineer, the E Pluribus Recycles! Play reinforces the need to preserve landfill space by Reducing, Reusing, and Recycling the "garbage" that we produce, rather than throwing everything away. This program also highlights student awareness of recycling options that are available in the Tucson area (curbside, neighborhood recycling centers, landfill recycling drop-off). Performances are available free of charge to any elementary school within the Tucson area.

Southern Arizona Environmental Management SocietyThe E Pluribus Recycles! Play is sponsored by the City of Tucson and Pima County, with additional benefactor support from the Southern Arizona Environmental Management Society. For more information or to arrange a show for your school, call the Tucson Recycles Info Line, at 791-5000 or email tcb@tucsonaz.gov.

The Trees for Tucson program also offers presentations and tree planting programs geared toward school-aged students.

RUMBA (Re-Used Materials Becoming Art) "Recycled Art" Contest
The "Recycled Art" Contest and Display, coordinated by Tucson Clean & Beautiful, is held each year. The next RUMBA contest will be held in on Sunday, March 29, 2009 at the Family Arts Festival, Tucson Convention Center/Leo Rich Theater.

The RUMBA Competition is free and open to all students in Kindergarten through 12th Grades, with local dignitaries judging the students' work. Projects may be submitted individually and as a group. Prizes are awarded based on the judges' recommendations.

College students, community groups and professional artists are also welcome to submit their works for inclusion in the RUMBA display, however their works will not be judged. Professional art exhibition at the recycled art contest is free of charge, at the discretion of Tucson Clean & Beautiful. However, sales of displayed materials are not permitted in the display area (business cards are permitted).
