Recycling Miscellaneous Items Many businesses, charities and other organizations in the Tucson area accept various materials for reuse, repair or recycling. For information about these options,
call the Recycling Info Line at 791-5000.
Household Hazardous Waste (HHW): Many common materials found in households and businesses should not be disposed of in landfills. The City of Tucson and Pima County jointly
operate sites where residents and small businesses may bring household hazardous items for recycling, exchange or safe disposal. The service is free to the public.

ABOPC: Antifreeze, Batteries, Oil, Paint & Computers These items can be dropped off with no fee at a special household hazardous waste
collection site across from the scale house at Los Reales Landfill:
Antifreeze, Batteries (auto and dry) Motor oil (5 gallon maximum size) Paint (25 cans maximum)
Computers (One per household)
This site cannot accept business-generated waste.
The City's Los Reales Landfill
- Location: 5300 E. Los Reales Road (Craycroft Road exit south of I-10)
- Hours: 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday, and 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday
- Landfill holiday schedule: call 791-5085.

Scrap Metal Recycling Scrap metal can be recycled at Los Reales Landfill with no fee. See hours and location under ABOPC above.
Acceptable Items:
* refrigerators * stoves * other metal appliances * aluminum siding * swamp coolers * water coolers
* file cabinets * chain link fencing * bicycles * air conditioners *hot water heaters * anything that's mostly metal
No automobiles
To comply with federal regulations and prevent pollution in the landfill, certified technicians remove freon before the metal appliances are baled for recycling.

Brush & Bulky Collection Crews visit every area of the city twice each year to collect residential brush and bulky
items. Collected tires and scrap metal items like appliances, chain link fence and bicycles are recycled. To see items that can be set out for collection and to find the dates when crews will be in your area, see the Brush and Bulky map.
Tucson Greencycles Compost Bin Sales
In partnership with Tucson Organic Gardeners, Environmental Services offers composting workshops and compost bins for sale. For more information contact 791-5000 or Tucson Organic Gardeners at 670-9158.
Christmas TreeCycle
For several weeks following Christmas, the City of Tucson and cooperating sponsors provide many sites in the greater Tucson area for residents to drop off their Christmas trees. The trees are
then taken to area landfills to be mulched and used for erosion control and other environmental projects.
