What is the Environmental Services Low Income Assistance Program?
In February 2006, Tucson’s Mayor and City Council approved a new Environmental Services Low Income Assistance Program. Beginning with July 2006 Utility Services billings, City of Tucson residents who meet eligibility requirements will receive a $12 credit toward their monthly Environmental Services Fee.
Who is eligible for the program?
Income eligibility guidelines depend on the number of persons residing in the home as follows:

For each additional person, add $4,896.
Customers who are currently receiving assistance through the Utility Services low income program administered by Pima County Community Action Agency (PCCAA) will automatically be enrolled in the new program when it begins in July 2006, and will not need to submit an initial application.
When will the program be available?
The program will begin July 1, 2006. Information about the program and the application process will be included with the May Utility Services Billing Statement.
How do I apply?
Residents may call Environmental Services Customer Service at 791-3171 to request an application. Additionally, the application is available online at www.tucsonaz.gov/pdf/lowincomeapp.pdf
Eligibility will be determined on an annual basis, and will expire at the end of each calendar year. Customers enrolled in the program will be notified by mail when they will need to submit an application for the following year.
