Mission Strong is an effort of the Southern Arizona Defense Alliance, a broad group of community and civic leaders, business organizations, military support groups, elected officials across all political affiliations, and private citizens.  What is their Mission? It is “to protect our local military assets and the nation’s defense.”  Why?  America’s armed forces deliver a huge economic benefit to our community.

Esmond Station Regional Park Meetings

Find out about Pima County’s future Esmond Station Regional Park and contribute your ideas about community needs and preferences for the park at two events in March.
 

• From 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, March 8, at the Esmond Station Railroad Festival at Esmond Station School, 9400 S. Atterbury Wash Way.
 

• At 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, March 11, at Clements Center, 8155 E. Poinciana Drive.

Property Tax Information

There are 3 issues that have increased the property tax:

1) Increase allowed by the State law 2%
2) Increase related to Insurance Tort and
... 3) Loss of revenue based on a reduction of sales tax revenue

F-35A Draft Environmental Impact Statement Released (EIS)

The United States Air Force has released the Draft EIS for the F-35A Proposed Pilot Training Center and Basing.  Tucson is still a possible alternative site with the F-35A Fighter proposed to beddown at the Tucson Air Guard Station at the Tucson International Aiport (TIA).
