The City of Tucson has adopted the 2018 International Building Codes with local amendments. All permit applications submitted after January 2, 2019, will use the 2018 Codes.
These codes can be found at the public library and through the International Code Council (ICC).
Each code has been amended to accommodate the City of Tucson. Make sure that your plans comply with currently adopted codes.
The City of Tucson is in the process of adopting the 2024 suite of I-codes. The target implementation date for the new codes is July 1, 2025. For more information about the code adoption process and the draft amendments, please visit the TPCJCC website here.

Adopting Local Amendments to the Building Code is authorized by Ordinance #11590.
