City Introduces Permit Review Lanes

The City of Tucson's Planning and Development Services Department has improved permit reviews, making them faster for certain types of permits. Timetables depend on application completeness and exclude special districts, historic districts, and floodplains.

Express Lane provides same-day service for SolarApp applications, residential electrical and plumbing projects, and electrical reconnections.

Fast Lane has a 15-day review target for residential model homes, commercial trade projects, special inspections, and building official appeals.

Standard Lane has a 30-day review goal for residential and commercial alterations, new building permits, and non-SolarApp solar installations.

The Complex Lane timetable depends on the project's scale.
