Cyclovia Tucson returns to South 12th Avenue this Sunday, October 27, 2019, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., extending from the Julian Wash Archeological Park at The Loop (West 39th Street and South 12th Avenue) to Mission Manor Park just south of Drexel Road. “Cyclovia en la Doce” provides 3.75 miles of car-free streets for you, your friends, and family to explore unique neighborhoods, business districts, parks, schools, community treasures, delicious food, and live music.
The South 12th Avenue route, which first debuted in 2017, connects dozens of locally owned small businesses plus dozens of schools, community centers, places of worship, parks and neighborhoods. More than one hundred different activities will line the route, concentrated around five activity hubs, and participating local restaurants will welcome guests with expanded outdoor seating for the day.
Beginning Sunday, October 27, 2019, from approximately 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. the following road closures will be in effect:
South 12th Avenue from 39th Street to West Veterans Boulevard
West Veterans Boulevard from South 12th Avenue to S. Liberty Avenue
South Liberty Avenue from West Veterans Boulevard to West Palmdale Street
West Palmdale Street from South Liberty Avenue to South 12th Avenue
South 12th Avenue from West Palmdale Street to West Mossman Street
During the event, motorists driving in this area may experience traffic delays associated with this event, so please plan accordingly. The traveling public should use caution when driving, bicycling or walking in this area. Please watch for event participants, obey all traffic control, and watch for detour signs and personnel providing traffic control.
