FSS Graduation Ceremony

On April 4th, 2019 Housing & Community Development held a Graduation Ceremony for the participants of Housing’s Family Self Sufficiency Program also known as FSS.

Leticia Perez, pictured above, has been a Family Self Sufficiency participant for 5 years. She is a single mother who has maintained her employment and increased her employability by obtaining certifications that allowed her to increase her income level. Client stated "The FSS Program helped her stay focused on achieving my goals".

Serina Hernandez, pictured above, has been a Family Self Sufficiency participant for 4 years. She is a single mother who had the goal of working a full time job and increasing her wages. She achieved her goals and has attended a homeownership class and stated: "The FSS Program gave me hope for the future, to eventually go from renting to owning a home"

Irene Murillo, pictured above, was a Family Self Sufficiency participant for 4 years. She is a single mother who obtained full time employment and is active in her community. These are her words: "Thanks to all the Support I received from the FSS Program, I obtained my United States Citizenship status in 2018. The program gave me the tools to become an independent woman and to value my goals. I am proud to participate in my community as a counselor to migrants for the past four years"
