Several Tucson organizations will be hosting a tour of local manufacturing sites and Pima Community College to celebrate Manufacturing Day (MFG Day) on Friday, Oct. 4. Two groups of students from Amphitheater High School will tour local businesses to learn what manufacturing is and what it isn't.
Friday's tours are hosted by Big Brothers Big Sisters of Southern Arizona, City of Tucson Economic Initiatives, Tucson Metro Chamber, and Arizona Commerce Authority in cooperation with AGM Container Controls, PSE Archery, and Pima Community College.
MFG Day is held annually on the first Friday in October. It helps show the reality of modern manufacturing careers by encouraging thousands of companies and educational institutions around the nation to open their doors to students, parents, teachers, and community leaders.
