Important Changes to policy took effect January 1, 2016
Individuals hired on or after January 1, 2016 will not be eligible for the following benefits:
- Retiree medical, dental, vision (Continuation of coverage in accordance with federal COBRA laws will continue to be offered)
- City-paid Retiree life insurance ($7,500)
- Portability of Supplemental Life Insurance (employee and spouse)

*Retiree Dental & Vision. Once you drop coverage, you may be unable to rejoin the plan later. Dependents of age 65+ retirees may not rejoin Medical once coverage is waived. Visit the Insurance Handbook for details.
