TUCSON - Tucson Ward 5 Councilmember applauds Arizona District 2 Congresswoman Ann Kirkpatrick, who lead a successful effort to get 10,000 disaster blankets for our most needy, vulnerable and homeless population in Tucson and Pima County,
I fully support the Mayor’s call for an evening curfew to help slow the rampant spread of Covid-19 across our community. I also understand that there is a balancing act between public health and the economic wellbeing of our small businesses and the people they employ.
We addressed the Mayor's call at an emergency meeting Tuesday to address the record number of COVID cases along with near capacity hospital beds.
The City of Tucson Department of Transportation and Mobility, along with Ward 4 Council Member Nikki Lee, invite you to attend a virtual public meeting to discuss the Houghton Road – 22nd Street to Irvington Road public art concepts.
Thursday, December 3, 2020
5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.
One of our great Ward 2 faith leaders, Rev. Owen Chandler, will be resigning his post at Saguaro Christian Church at the beginning of next year.
The reason for his leaving the post fit in with what I know about his sense of duty. He’s a US Army reservist and has deployed in the past. He is now being asked to switch from the reserve component to the active component.
Ward 5 Councilmember Richard Fimbres and his staff, hope you have a safe and Happy Thanksgiving.
Please practice social distancing, washing your hands frequently and if out and about, to wear a mask.
Also, Councilmember Fimbres reminds everyone to please don't drink and drive.
The Ward 5 Council Office will be closed Thursday, November 26, for the Thanksgiving Holiday and the office will also be closed Friday, November 27.
The Ward 5 Council Office will reopen Monday, November 30.
On Tuesday, December 1, 2020, crews from the City of Tucson Department of Transportation and Mobility (DTM) Electric Shop are scheduled to replace a damaged traffic signal control cabinet with a new cabinet at the 22nd Street and Camino Seco intersection.
Work is scheduled to take place from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. Temporary stop signs will be in place for traffic control at the intersection. The schedule is subject to change due to inclement weather or unforeseen circumstances.
