On Monday, August 24, 2020, Downtown Links Constructors (DLC), under contract with the City of Tucson Department of Transportation and Mobility (DTM), will begin phase three of the Downtown Links Improvement Project from Church Avenue to Broadway.

The City of Tucson Department of Transportation and Mobility (DTM) is planning new street improvements on University Boulevard between Stone Avenue and Fourth Avenue. The Third Street/University Bicycle Boulevard is part of the voter-approved Proposition 407 Tucson Delivers Parks and Connections Program that will expand the citywide low-stress biking and walking network.

The Houghton Road Corridor, spanning 13 miles from Interstate 10 to Tanque Verde Road, is one of the corridor projects included in the 2006 voter-approved Regional Transportation Authority (RTA) plan. On Wednesday, August 19, 2020, crews from Next Generation Electrical and the City of Tucson Department of Transportation and Mobility (DTM) Electric Shop, are scheduled to replace traffic signal heads with upgraded signals to accommodate flashing yellow left turn arrows at the intersection of Campbell Avenue and Fort Lowell Road.
Work at the intersection will take place from about 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. The schedule is subject to change due to inclement weather or unforeseen circumstances.

We’ve been doing COVID-19 testing at Udall Park for the last week or so. It’s relatively easy to sign up and get the testing done. I know this because I made an appointment and got tested earlier this week.
It takes five minutes to sign up. All you need to do is go to www.pima.gov/covid19testing and click on the Schedule My Test link for Udall, or call 800-369-3584 to schedule an appointment. The test itself was easy too, and there was nearly no waiting.

The City of Tucson Mayor and Council have allocated more than $4.5 million of Federal CARES Act dollars to fund an emergency rent and utility assistance program for City of Tucson residents struggling to pay rent or utilities due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The City’s Housing and Community Development (HCD) department has partnered with several agencies to administer this program including Primavera, Interfaith Community Services, Catholic Community Services, and International Rescue Committee.
