As of this morning, June 18, there are now 4,682 reports of COVID-19 cases in Pima County and 43,443 in Arizona. Those numbers are up significantly from yesterday.
Keep in mind, though, that those numbers include cases where people have recovered, as state health officials do not track recoveries. There have now been 1,271 COVID-19 deaths in Arizona, up from, 1,239 the day before.

As of this morning, June 18, the Bighorn Fire in the Coronado National Forest has grown to 31,208 acres and is 40% contained. It's currently burning through dense fuel as it creeps closer to the western edge of the Summerhaven community.

The Tucson Industrial Development Authority (TIDA) has increased the household income limits and purchase price limits for its Mortgage Credit Certificate (MCC) Program. The increase makes more people eligible for the program, which is designed to reduce a first-time homebuyer’s federal income tax bill by providing an annual dollar-for-dollar federal tax credit of 40 percent of the mortgage interest paid, up to $2,000.

As of this morning, June 17, there are now 4,385 reports of COVID-19 cases in Pima County and 40,924 in Arizona. Keep in mind, though, that those numbers include cases where people have recovered. State health officials do not track recoveries.
There have now been 1,239 COVID-19 deaths in Arizona. Meanwhile, the City of Tucson created and maintains an up-to-date COVID-19 website that includes information for businesses, residents, and even activities for kids. The site is updated as information continues to evolve.

As of this morning, June 17, the Bighorn Fire in the Coronado National Forest has grown to 17,492 acres and is 40% contained. It's currently burning just west of Summerhaven and the Mt. Lemmon SkyCenter Observatory.
Mt. Lemmon and Mt. Bigelow are in the “Go” evacuation status north of the Organization Ridge Road area, including Summerhaven. Many other surrounding areas are in the "Set" stage.

The City of Tucson’s new online utility payment system (water, sewer/wastewater, and trash/recycling) is now live. Register your new account now to set up or continue online and auto payments.
The new system allows customers to enroll in autopay, make one-time payments, view their bills electronically, set up email/text payment reminders, and manage multiple accounts. For security reasons, the City cannot transfer a customer’s account and financial information. A new account can be set up in as little as 12 minutes.

Crews this week are scheduled to replace traffic signal heads with upgraded signals to accommodate flashing yellow left-turn arrows at the intersection of Campbell Avenue and Glenn Street. Work at the intersection will take place tomorrow, June 18, from about 6 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Law enforcement officers will be on-site to direct travel through the intersection until the work is complete. Please obey all traffic control signs and watch for officers and construction personnel in the area.

On Thursday, June 18, 2020, crews from Next Generation Electrical, under contract with the City of Tucson Department of Transportation and Mobility (DTM), are scheduled to replace traffic signal heads with upgraded signals to accommodate flashing yellow left turn arrows at the intersection of Campbell Avenue and Glenn Street.
Work at the intersection will take place from about 6 a.m. to 4 p.m. The schedule is subject to change due to inclement weather or unforeseen circumstances.

As of this morning, June 16, the Bighorn Fire in the Coronado National Forest has grown to more than 15,800 acres and is 30% contained. The "Set" warning notices from last night are still in effect.
Crews took advantage of favorable weather conditions last night to conduct burnout operations on the northeast portion of the fire near the Trico powerline corridor. Catalina Highway remains closed to the public at milepost zero. Only residents and business owners may pass. Campgrounds on Mount Lemmon also are closed.
