The Mayor and Tucson City Council will meet tomorrow in Executive Session to discuss plans to redevelop the Ronstadt Transit Center.
Two developers shared their proposals over the summer for the Ronstadt Transit Center Joint Development Project. Both proposals would keep a bus hub, while adding housing and retail spaces.

With freezing overnight temperatures in the weather forecast for the next couple of nights, Tucson Water is urging its customers to protect their outdoor pipes.
Tips include using foam or wrap insulation from hardware stores (blankets or towels also will work) and letting cold water drip from a faucet.

Tucson Parks and Recreation’s Activity Guide for spring 2016 is available at all Parks and Recreation facilities, including district offices, centers and pools. Copies also will be available at the Family Festival in the Park event on Saturday, Nov. 21, at Reid Park, or can be viewed online.

Beginning at approximately 2:30 p.m. today, crews from the City of Tucson Department of Transportation (TDOT) Streets and Traffic Maintenance Division will initiate Operation Freeze in preparation of freezing temperatures tonight. Operation Freeze is put into place to make sure City bridge decks are free of ice and safe for motorists to drive over.

The public is invited to attend a public open house for Kolb Road: Connection to Sabino Canyon Road. This project is part of the $2.1 billion, 20-year Regional Transportation Authority (RTA) plan that was approved by voters in May 2006.
The purpose of the meeting is to introduce the contractor, provide information and answer questions regarding the project’s construction.

The 2nd annual Hats Off to Heroes event will be held tomorrow at the DeMeester Outdoor Performance Center at Reid Park. The 11 a.m.-7:30 p.m. free event will feature a 5K fun run, military displays, resources for veterans, food, the Tucson Pops Orchestra and other musical guests, and fireworks.

The University of Arizona will host two big sporting events this weekend, as the basketball team opens its regular season tonight at 7:30, while the football team plays its last home game of the season tomorrow at 8 p.m.
Tomorrow also is 2nd Saturdays Downtown, so it will be a busy weekend.

State law requires that all permitted work on commercial properties, residential rentals, and properties for sale must be done by a licensed contractor.
Effective December 1st, 2015, a letter from the licensed contractor stating their affiliation with the project must be provided to the Permit Counter prior to the issuance of the permit. The letter must include: permit activity number, project address, contractor ROC, phone number and contact address. Letters may be emailed to COTDSDPermits@Tucsonaz.gov or faxed to 520-791-4475.

Do you have unused chemicals, oils, or pesticides sitting in your shed or garage? The City of Tucson is hosting its 2nd Saturday Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) collection tomorrow. The collection location is at City of Tucson Community Services, 325 N. Commerce Park Loop, 8 a.m.-noon.
Accepted materials include automotive fluids, rechargeable batteries from electronics equipment, toxic cleaning products, fluorescent lamps, paints, solvents, and lawn and garden products.

Underground utility work being conducted by Century Link associated with the Grant Road Widening Project will require eastbound travel lane closures on Grant Road from Stone Avenue to Fontana Avenue.
The single, eastbound travel lane closure will take place nightly from 8 p.m. to noon the following day. The travel lane restrictions will be in place from Thursday, November 12, 2015 through Friday, November 13, 2015.

Tucson Water is completing an upgrade to its telephone and online payment system, also known as Online Utility Account Services. Beginning tonight at 7 o'clock, the pay-by-phone system will be shut down. At 8 a.m. tomorrow, the online bill pay service will be unavailable. Access to both services will be restored at 8 a.m. Monday.
Customers still can make payments in person during normal weekday business hours, 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Tucson Water will not be charging late fees or pursuing service turn offs during the system upgrade.
