Ward 5 Thanksgiving Update

Councilmember Richard Fimbres and the staff of the Ward 5 Council Office wants to wish everyone a Happy Thanksgiving.

The Ward 5 Council Office will be closed Thursday, November 26 and Friday, November 27.

 

The Ward 5 Council Office will be open again at 8 am on Monday, November 30.

Tucson city court to hold second warrant day

The Tucson City Court, City Prosecutor, and City Public Defender will hold a second “Warrant Day” on Saturday, Dec. 5, 2015. Individuals with warrants may come to the court starting at 8 a.m. and see a judge, on a walk-in basis, regarding their warrant until 4 p.m. The goal of Warrant Day is to resolve the warrant and possibly close cases in warrant status. Tucson City Court is located at 103 E. Alameda and directions are posted online at https://www.tucsonaz.gov/courts/tucson-city-court.

Tips to Stay Safe When Frying a Turkey

If you plan to fry your Thanksgiving turkey, please be aware that there are several safety steps you need to take to prevent injury to yourself and others.

Tucson Fire Department Capt. Barrett Baker appeared recently on KGUN9's The Morning Blend (video) to offer some tips to keep your holiday celebration away from the emergency room. The first tip is to make sure the turkey is completely thawed.

Traffic Alert - North Rillito Interceptor Sewer Rehabilitation Project

This is a series of traffic alerts that will be issued throughout the construction of the North Rillito Interceptor (NRI) Sewer Rehabilitation Project. These alerts will announce construction, detour and street closure information as it affects residents, businesses and traffic within the area. The 10-mile long NRI project is being completed in phases; the current phase’s construction boundaries are along River Road from Longfellow Avenue to just west of Campbell Avenue.
 

City to Offer Another Warrant Day

The City of Tucson will open its court building on Saturday, Dec. 5, giving people a weekend day to clear up outstanding warrants. There will be two courtrooms available at Tucson City Court, 103 East Alameda, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Individuals with warrants may come to the court starting at 8 a.m. on a walk-in basis and see a judge regarding their warrant. The goal of Warrant Day is to resolve the warrant and possibly close cases in warrant status.
