Tucson's annual Bike Fest celebration started today and continues all month. Activities include Cyclovia Tucson (April 10), Greater Arizona Bicycling Bike Swap (April 17), and Bike-in Movies (various days).

"MoctoberFest" will be held tomorrow at Mercado San Agustin, just west of Interstate 10, on Avenida del Convento. The 4 p.m.-midnight event features music, a circus, parade, aerial artists, food, crafts, a photo booth, vaudevillians, magic, and more.
The Mercado is easily accessible via the Sun Link streetcar. The stop is at the western terminus of the nearly 4-mile route. Admission is $5, but kids 10 and under are free.

Even though he assumed the position in January, Chris Magnus officially was sworn in yesterday as Tucson's 25th police chief. Magnus recently passed all of his needed certification tests to become a peace officer in Arizona.

Fry’s Food Stores will add commercial food scrap collection at all Tucson stores through the City of Tucson’s FoodCycle Program. A formal announcement will be made by Mayor Jonathan Rothschild tomorrow at 10 a.m. in the Fry’s at 7812 E. Speedway Blvd. The addition of the Fry’s stores will bring the number of Tucson food scrap collection locations to 50.

The Fourth Avenue Spring Street Fair opens tomorrow and runs through Sunday, 10 a.m.-6 p.m., each day. The event takes place on Fourth Avenue between Ninth Street and University Boulevard.
The street fair includes more than 400 arts and crafts booths, more than 35 food vendors, street musicians, food, jugglers, street performers, and a hands-on art pavilion for kids. There also will be face painting, balloons, demonstrations, sidewalk entertainment, and other activities.

Cuddle with some therapy dogs and drink coffee downtown tomorrow to help relieve any stress you may be feeling. The event will be held from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. at the Downtown Tucson Partnership, 100 N. Stone Ave., Suite 101.
A $10 donation at the door supports Arizona Gives Day for the Humane Society of Southern Arizona.

ZoomTucson is an interactive mapping site that allows citizens to find government information and services, such as political representatives, trash and recycling collection schedules, zoning, and school boundaries. ZoomTucson's clean and simple map interface allows users to search by an address or click on a location to display a wealth of information. It's also good for people interested in moving to Tucson.

Fourth Avenue will be the host of the annual Fourth Avenue Spring Street Fair this weekend. The Fourth Avenue Spring Street Fair begins on Friday, April 1, 2016 and is open daily through Sunday, April 3, 2016, from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m. Attendance for the Street Fair is estimated to be approximately 300,000 people, so please adjust travel plans accordingly.

As part of the Campbell Avenue Streetscape Enhancement Project, crews from Pima Paving and Tucson Asphalt, under contract with the City of Tucson Department of Transportation, will begin installing decorative stamped asphalt crosswalks at several locations on Campbell Avenue between Fort Lowell Road and Grant Road.

Tucson City Court will be closed for business this Friday, April 1, through Monday, April 4, in order to transition to its new case management system, Arizona Judicial Automated Case System (AJACS). The court will be open on a limited basis next Tuesday with scheduled hearings and trials in courtrooms, but the customer service lobby and website will be closed. People having a scheduled court date of Tuesday, April 5, are expected to appear in court, unless they received a notice rescheduling the date.

Arizonans who want to travel will be able to get an identification card this week that meets federal REAL ID Act security requirements. The Arizona Department of Transportation says its new Voluntary Travel ID from the Motor Vehicle Division meets security requirements to gain access to airports, restricted federal buildings, military bases, and more.

Paving operations are underway at the 22nd Street and Alvernon Way intersection, as construction of Pima County's 22nd Street Sewer Augmentation Project begins to wrap up. Traffic is shifted to accommodate the paving equipment as its moves through the project area. Paving is scheduled to be finished by the end of the day on Friday.

A recent survey from the City of Tucson's Environmental Services (ES) department found that approximately 90 percent of Tucsonans regularly set out their blue barrels for recycling, but 20 percent of the material put in barrels is not recyclable. Contamination - especially food, yard waste, and dirty diapers - can ruin a complete truckload of recyclables. Plastic bags, garden hoses, and clothing also can cause problems.
