P-CHIP Call for Projects Applications Now Open

City of Tucson, Housing and Community Development Call for Projects outlines funding available to advance the goals of the P-CHIP.

It is also the process by which the City of Tucson accepts, reviews, and recommends applications for funding for Fiscal Year 2021-2022.

The Tucson Mayor and City Council determine final funding allocations.

The Call for Projects covers the following funding sources:

Federal Transit Administration Grant - Public Transportation COVID-19 Research Demonstration

The Federal Transit Administration (FTA) announced that it has awarded the City of Tucson Department of Transportation and Mobility (DTM) $600,000 to develop operational solutions that address challenges faced by public transportation during the COVID-19 pandemic. The funds are from FTA’s Public Transportation COVID-19 Research Demonstration Grant Program, which supports exposure mitigation, contactless payment and strengthening rider confidence on public transit.

Paul's Note - January 15th, 2021

Six hundred and two residents of Pima County died of COVID-19 last week. I’d like to tell you about two of them.

One was Michael Hicks. We were on opposite sides of most issues, but I know he cared a lot about the community. He was a traffic engineer with the city for years and my staff got to work with him when dealing with neighborhood issues.
