The voter registration deadline for Arizona's Special Election is next Monday, April 18. Those wishing to register to vote may contact the Pima County Recorder's Office at (520) 724-4330. Registered voters in Pima County may also request to be placed on the Permanent Early Voter List (PEVL) and automatically be mailed an Early Voting Ballot.

The City of Tucson's General Services Department's Fleet Services Division is seeking skilled mechanics to perform maintenance, repair, and overhaul work on heavy construction equipment with diesel, gasoline, and natural gas engines. Shift work and on-call work is required. Work schedules may include weekends and holidays.

The City of Tucson Parks and Recreation department offers discounts that allow low-income residents to pay a 50 percent discounted fee for KIDCO, Jr. Leadership, In-Betweener's Club, Learn-to-Swim, and therapeutic programs. There also is a 25 percent discount for annual/quarterly passes at recreation centers and for a Senior Activity Card.

The Tucson Parks and Recreation department wants to know how it can improve recreation and leisure opportunities for all of its users.
This month, the department kicks off a second round of open houses to gather input on the process to create a vibrant, new five-year master plan that anticipates future needs and outlines the actions necessary to deliver high-quality recreation facilities, programs, and services to the Tucson area.

Tucson City Court is operating under a new case management system, replacing one that was used for 17 years. The newer Arizona Judicial Automated Case System (AJACS) has more features and is better-suited for today's technology.
In the Tucson 12 video linked below, Court Administrator Chris Hale explains the benefits of AJACS, including the way it reduces redundant data entries, prevents mistakes, and removes older cases and keeps them from public eyes.

The Tucson Fire Department (TFD) Friday recognized nearly 30 members of its department for their efforts over the past year. The men and women recognized at The Tucson Fire Department Annual Awards Program were honored for their the commitment and professionalism at TFD and within the community.

The Tohono O'Odham Nation Police Department is still looking for the vandals responsible for spraying graffiti on several walls and structures at the historic Mission San Xavier del Bac. While the interior of the church was unaffected, vandals damaged the mission's lime-mortar walls, the courtyard walls, a sidewalk, and a nearby tribal cemetery. The vandalism was discovered early yesterday morning.

Visit Downtown Tucson this weekend and enjoy live music, street performers, restaurants, and street vendors. The main stage at Scott Avenue and Congress Street opens at 6 p.m. with performances from Early Black, Carnivaleros, and Shrimp Chaperone.
You can use the Sun Link streetcar to easily move through the downtown area.

The SAHBA Home & Patio Show began its three-day run today at the Tucson Convention Center (TCC). The show runs until 6 o'clock tonight, 10 a.m.-6 p.m. tomorrow, and 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Sunday. Tucson's largest home and patio show is produced by the Southern Arizona Home Builders Association (SAHBA).
