Hotel Construction Downtown to Alter Traffic

In order to facilitate concrete delivery for construction of the AC Marriott Hotel at Fifth Avenue and Broadway Boulevard, some modifications to vehicular traffic will be needed this week. Starting tonight at 10:30, through 4 p.m. tomorrow, the left lane of Broadway will be closed between Sixth Avenue and Fifth Avenue. On Saturday, the left lane of Broadway will be closed again between the hours of 6 a.m. and 4 p.m.

AC Marriott Hotel Construction

Construction is progressing on the new AC Marriott Hotel in Downtown Tucson on the corner of Fifth Avenue and Broadway. In order to facilitate concrete delivery, some modifications to the traffic control set-up hours will be necessary.  Below are the vehicular travel restrictions associated with this construction this week. Please note that pedestrian and bicycle access is being maintained in and around road closures.

Senior Scam Prevention Event This Friday

Ward 5 Tucson City Council Member Richard Fimbres and Legislative District 2 State Senator Andrea Dalessandro present a forum this week to offer tips to keep seniors safe from scam artists.

There will be presentations from representatives of the Arizona Attorney General, Pima County Attorney, Pima County Sheriff, Pima Council on Aging, DES Adult Protective Services, AARP, and more. Presenters will be available to answer questions and provide resources during the forum.

Tucson Water is seeking a team player with skills to lead well maintenance mechanics in constructing, installing, repairing, and maintaining well sites to run efficiently and in sound condition. Work is subject to standby and on-call hours during off-duty hours.

It's Easy to Start a Business in Tucson

Getting a required business license to open a business in Tucson (and paying ensuing taxes) can be done online through the City of Tucson's Finance Department.

One thing to remember if you are buying an existing business is that you are liable for any unpaid taxes of the seller. Recruitment Opens for Public Safety Dispatchers

The Tucson Police Department (TPD) currently has multiple vacancies for public safety dispatchers within the Communications Division. The position involves skilled radio communications, including dispatching emergency and non-emergency calls for service. The dispatcher must relay critical information via a radio system to public safety personnel who are dispatched on calls for service.
