Southern Arizona Paving and Construction Co, under contract with the City of Tucson Department of Transportation (TDOT), will be sealcoating several Tucson roadways over the next two months as part of the voter-approved $100 million, five-year street bond program - Road Recovery.
The dates, work hours and locations for the next set of roadway improvements are listed below. The schedule is subject to change due to inclement weather. Please note that the work hours have changed to nighttime hours.

Water line work will affect traffic on Pantano Rd. and Waverly St. Beginning at 9 p.m., Friday, May 16, and continuing until 6 a.m., Saturday, May 17, southbound traffic lanes on Pantano Rd. will be closed at Waverly St. because of water line work. The affected area is between Pima St. and Wrightstown Rd. Southbound traffic on Pantano Rd. will be diverted to one of its northbound lanes. Pantano Rd. will also be reduced to one lane for northbound traffic in the area. Motorists are asked to exercise additional caution to help ensure the safety of the workers.

The Sun Link Tucson Streetcar received two awards from the American Public Works Association.
The project was awarded the Public Works Project of the Year and the project management for Joe Chase of TDOT.
Congratulations to Joe, TDOT and those involved with the Streetcar Project.
The 24th annual Metropolitan Education Commission Crystal Apple Awards was held Friday May 2, at the Desert Diamond Casino Resort.
Congratulations to all the winners for being honored in their efforts to better the lives of all students

The City of Tucson and Pima County have an option for you to clean out your space while keeping these hazardous materials out of the environment. On Saturday, May 10, 2014, the Household Hazardous Waste Program 2nd Saturday Collection will be held at Mansfield Park, 2000 N. 4th Avenue from 8 a.m. to noon. Drop off of HHW is free for residents.

The Southern Arizona Branch of the American Public Works Association (APWA) announced today that the Sun Link Tucson Streetcar Project has been named the Public Works Project of the Year.
The $196 million project, co-managed by the City of Tucson and the Regional Transportation Authority (RTA), is expected to launch service July 25, 2014.

On Wednesday, April 30, 2014 crews from Southern Arizona Paving and Construction Co, under contract with the City of Tucson Department of Transportation (TDOT), will begin crack sealing Golf Links Road from Craycroft Road to Aviation Parkway. The work will take place from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. The crack sealing work on Golf Links Road is scheduled to be complete on Friday, May 2, 2014.
During this work, travel lane restrictions will be in place, however at least two lanes of travel will be maintained in both directions.

On Tuesday, April 29, 2014, crews from the City of Tucson Department of Transportation (TDOT) Streets and Traffic Maintenance Division will begin a chipseal project on Irvington Road from Pantano Road to Kolb Road. Work hours for the street maintenance work will be 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. Crews are scheduled to be complete with the project on Wednesday, April 30, 2014.

Crews from the City of Tucson Department of Transportation (TDOT) Streets and Traffic Maintenance Division today began installing plastic flexible posts to delineate bicycle lanes from the travel lanes on St. Mary’s Road from Interstate 10 to Main Avenue. As part of this pilot project for Downtown Links Phase II, crews are installing 48 delineators, approximately 30 feet to 40 feet apart on both eastbound and westbound St. Mary’s Road. The work is expected to be complete by Wednesday, April 30, 2014.
