Thursday, February 25 at 1:00 PM will be the official Ready, Set, Rec! The launch will take place at Rodeo Park, 5000 S. Nogales Highway. Once the ribbon has been cut, the Ward 4 Mobile Rec Van will drive to Purple Heart Park and host physically-distanced recreational activities from 2-4 PM. This is a great opportunity to get the kids out and active again.

Downtown Links Constructors (DLC), under contract with the City of Tucson Department of Transportation and Mobility have begun work on the Downtown Links project.
Motorists, bicyclists, and pedestrians should anticipate intermittent lane restrictions throughout the limits of the project in addition to the following upcoming work (See Map):

The City of Tucson Department of Transportation and Mobility (DTM) is excited to announce its first annual Tucson Transportation Talks (TTT), a free virtual conference on March 3 and 4, 2021.

Crews from Next Generation Electrical, under contract with the City of Tucson Department of Transportation and Mobility (DTM), are scheduled to rewire the traffic signals at the intersections north and south of Interstate 10 at Sixth Avenue and Benson Highway on Thursday, February 18, 2021.
The work is scheduled to take place between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m., the same day. The traffic signals at the intersections will not be in operation during this work. Officers will direct travel through the intersections until the work is complete.

Councilmember Fimbres and the Ward 5 staff want to wish everyone a Happy Valentine's Day. Monday, February 15 is President's Day, a federal holiday and the Ward 5 Office, along with most City offices are closed. The Ward 5 Council Office will be open Tuesday, February 16. Thank you.

Earlier this week, it looked like COVID-19 cases were trending down slightly, but this morning’s Arizona Department of Health Services numbers show new cases have increased again.
This is why it is still important to take precautions: maintain social distance and wear a mask when you are in public. Also, if you are eligible, make an appointment to get a vaccination.
