Residential Model Plans, Permits from Residential Model Plans, and Development Packages may now be submitted through new online application

On Monday, October 26, 2020, Planning and Development Services launched Phase 1 of its new Online Building Permit Application to process most building permit submittals. This new process is part of a phased approach to help automate the intake of permits. It aims to reduce the time from application submission to permit initialization and allow for more immediate tracking of permit progress.

My office has gotten a lot of feedback about the plans for zoo expansion and how it will affect the south pond at Reid Park, the smaller of the two ponds. My staff and I have been working with both Reid Park Zoo and the Parks and Recreation Department on an informative, comprehensive response to your questions. I thought I’d share our office’s response as part of this newsletter: 

Traffic Signal Improvements - Golf Links Road and Swan Road





Crews from Next Generation Electrical, under contract with the City of Tucson Department of Transportation and Mobility (DTM), are scheduled to rewire the traffic signals at the Golf Links Road and Swan Road intersection on Thursday, November 12, 2020.

This is a special edition of our weekly Ward 3 newsletter in recognition that tomorrow, Nov. 11, is Veterans Day. All City of Tucson offices, except for emergency services, will be closed on Wednesday, Nov. 11. Residential and commercial trash and recycling will not be collected tomorrow. Customers with regular Wednesday, Thursday, or Friday collections will have their pickups delayed by one day. Transit services will run on a regular weekday schedule.
