Get $200 Rebate on High-Efficiency Washer

A high-efficiency washing machine can save thousands of gallons of water and hundreds of kilowatt hours of energy per year over regular models. Select one from the Qualifying Product List on Tucson Water’s website and receive a $200 rebate.

To qualify, one must receive water service from Tucson Water. The washer can be either a first-time or replacement purchase. If it is a replacement, customers must have their old machine removed and not reused or donated.

A Southwest Nutcracker This Weekend

Tucson Regional Ballet, featuring the Tucson Symphony Orchestra, will perform A Southwest Nutcracker on Saturday (two performances) and Sunday, Dec. 15-16.

This original, full-length classical ballet translates the traditional Nutcracker to Tucson in the 1880s, complete with coyotes, cavalry, and rattlesnakes. The live orchestra, costumes, dancing, and set design make for a holiday tradition for the entire family.

Job Opportunity: KIDCO Recreation Worker

The Tucson Parks and Recreation department is looking for fun, energetic, and enthusiastic recreation workers to help with KIDCO programs for children. This position assists in planning activities for children ages 5 to 12 (with possible positions for programming of 12-14-year-olds), prepares facilities for scheduled functions, and supervises youth activity participants.

Applicants must be at least 16 years old to apply, and the application deadline is Wednesday, Dec. 12.

Rincon/University High School is proud to announce that our Jazz Ensemble has the prestigious honor of being selected and invited to perform at The Midwest Clinic in Chicago, Illinois, December 18-21, 2018. After a rigorous audition/application process, the 17 member Jazz Ensemble, under the direction of Jeff Marchant, has been selected out of hundreds of applicants. The Midwest Clinic International Band, Orchestra and Music Conference is over 70 years old and will have more than 17,000 attendees from more than 30 countries.

Valencia Road - Wilmot Road To Kolb Road Valencia Road Traffic Switch

Base paving operations on south side of Valencia Road from Wilmot Road to east of the Kolb Road intersection are ongoing, with the anticipated completion date being Sunday, December 9, 2018, at about 5 p.m. Following this work, crews from KE&G Construction, under contract with the City of Tucson Department of Transportation (TDOT), will begin temporary paving in the Valencia Road and Kolb Road intersection to facilitate an upcoming traffic shift. This temporary paving work will begin Sunday, December 9, 2018 at about 10 p.m., through 5 a.m. on Monday, December 10, 2018.

Zoo Lights 2018 Begins This Week

Zoo Lights, presented by Tucson Electric Power, opens to the public this week. Sip hot chocolate as you stroll through thousands of twinkling lights and lighted animal displays that illuminate the grounds of Reid Park Zoo. There also will be falling snow in the winter wonderland, pictures with Santa, and live music on the weekends. S’mores, sweet treats, and food will be available for purchase.

Enjoy Cookies with Santa

The City of Tucson Parks and Recreation department is hosting Cookies with Santa on Tuesday, Dec. 18, 6-7:30 p.m., at Randolph Center, 200 S. Alvernon Way. The cost is $2 per person.

Children will enjoy crafts, holiday stories, cookies, hot chocolate, and a picture with Santa. Register now through Dec. 11 at Randolph Center. The event is limited to the first 75 people to sign up. Call (520) 791-4560 for more information.
