Tucson Police Department's Annual Fallen Office Memorial Wednesday

Eight Tucson Police officers who dedicated their lives to serving the City of Tucson gave the ultimate sacrifice and were killed in the line of duty. Every year, the Tucson Police Department (TPD) remembers and honors these heroes for their dedicated service. On Wednesday, May 8, TPD will host the 2019 Tucson Police Department Annual Fallen Officer Memorial. The service will begin at 6:30 p.m. in the Memorial Courtyard on the front lawn of the TPD Headquarters, 270 S. Stone Ave.

Red Cross and Parks and Recreation to Offer Low Cost Swim Lessons

The American Red Cross and the Tucson Parks and Recreation department invite you to a press conference at the Catalina Pool, 2005 N. Dodge Blvd., on Tuesday, May 7, at 11 a.m., to kick off the American Red Cross Centennial Water Safety Campaign. The campaign launched in 2014, marking a century of swimming safety education to reduce the number of drownings in 50 major cities with high numbers of drownings.

Reid Park Zoo Welcomes a Couple of New Residents

Two Grevy's zebras arrived this week at Reid Park Zoo, while the previous resident moved to his new home in Phoenix.

Tuari, a 9-year-old male, now resides at the Phoenix Zoo as part of a breeding recommendation for the endangered species. Benjamin, a 16-year-old male, and Anna, a 5-year-old female, will fill the Grevy's zebra habitat in Tucson. Benjamin came from San Diego Zoo, and Anna traveled from Sedgwick County Zoo in Wichita, Kansas.

The City of Tucson and Pima County request your help and input in preparing Tucson's upcoming Five-year Consolidated Plan.

Take a survey regarding fair housing and housing discrimination in the Tucson area. The survey is available in English and Spanish.

Houghton Road Project Open House

The City of Tucson Department of Transportation (TDOT) and the Regional Transportation Authority (RTA) invite you to attend a public meeting to learn about the Houghton Road projects currently in construction or design. These projects are part of the overall plan to improve Houghton Road from Tanque Verde Road to Interstate 10 and part of the voter-approved $2.1 billion RTA plan.

The open house will be Thursday, May 16, 6 to 7:30 pm (Drop by any time) at Secrist Middle School, 3400 S Houghton Road
