Downtown Tucson Partnership Announces Third Round of Bonus Gift Card Program

The Downtown Tucson Partnership (DTP) is stepping up again to infuse cash into the downtown community through the DTP Gift Card Incentive Program. The success of the first two rounds of gift cards led HSL Properties to provide the $10,000 required to fund another 1,000 gift cards with bonuses. This will result in an additional $35,000 invested directly into downtown businesses, bringing the total up to $105,000 in a matter of days.

Update on Baby Elephant

The baby elephant calf at Reid Park Zoo is now a little more than a week old. She has been introduced to the whole herd and is spending lots of time with her mom, Semba, and her sister, Nandi.

The calf has been spending her mornings on habitat and is at times visible on the Zoo Cams. For the best chance to see her on camera, start viewing before 11 a.m. The Zoo will be giving the public an opportunity to vote on the calf's name. Stay tuned for details.

TRAFFIC ALERT BROADWAY – EUCLID AVENUE TO COUNTRY CLUB ROAD IMPROVEMENT PROJECT BROADWAY ROAD CLOSURE

On Monday, April 20, 2020, at approximately 4 a.m., eastbound and westbound Broadway will be closed to travel at Fremont Avenue, which is just east of Park Avenue.

Westbound Broadway will be temporarily closed for about four hours from 4 a.m. to about 8 a.m. During this time, motorists and bicyclists will detour north on Cherry Avenue, west on 10th Street to Euclid Avenue.

TUCSON DELIVERS BETTER STREETS PROP 101 CRACK SEAL/FOG SEAL PROGRAM TO BEGIN

Crews from Southern Arizona Paving and Construction Co., under contract with the Tucson Department of Transportation and Mobility (DTM), are scheduled to begin crack seal and fog seal work on various roadway segments throughout the City. The roadway improvements are associated with the voter-approved Prop 101 Tucson Delivers Better Streets Program.

Broadway - Euclid Avenue to Country Club Road Traffic Shift - Campbell Ave to Country Club Rd

On Sunday, April 19, 2020, at approximately 6 a.m., eastbound travel on Broadway between Campbell Avenue and Stewart Avenue, just west of Country Club Road will shift to the north side of Broadway. This traffic shift will allow work crews to begin improvements on the south side of Broadway between Campbell Avenue and Country Club Road.
 
The travel configuration on Broadway through the entire construction zone from Euclid Avenue to Country Club Road will now be one lane in each direction with a dedicated center turn lane.
 

Arizona Motor Vehicle Division Services Unavailable April 17-21

The replacement of an obsolete computer system will require a complete shutdown of all Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT) Motor Vehicle Division (MVD) services from 5 p.m. Friday, April 17, through Tuesday, April 21. This shutdown is a full interruption to all services provided at MVD offices, including authorized third party providers and online services.
