Tumamoc Hill will reopen to walkers next Monday, May 25, Memorial Day, more than two months after it was closed because of COVID-19 concerns. When it reopens, Tumamoc will have a tightened set of guidelines for those who use it.
Southern Arizona has entered pool season, and the Tucson Fire Department (TFD) and neighboring fire districts are urging people to practice water safety.

Crews from Southern Arizona Paving and Construction Co., under contract with the Tucson Department of Transportation and Mobility (DTM), will begin a crack seal/fog seal program on various roadways throughout the City. During the three-month-long roadway improvement project there will be day and night work. Crews will work Monday through Friday, with occasional weekend work. Sun Tran will introduce its first electric bus into service starting Sunday, May 17. The electric bus is powered only by battery and produces zero-emissions, contributing to cleaner and healthier air in Tucson. In addition, it provides a quieter and more comfortable ride for passengers.
Beginning Monday, May 18, 10 a.m., many Pima County public libraries will reopen for public use. Select branches will be open Monday-Friday, 10 a.m.-5 p.m.

Arizona Project WET's Arizona Water Festival (AWF) is now virtual because of the COVID-19 pandemic and social distancing. AWF is an opportunity for elementary school students and their families to learn about water resources and water-saving technology through short videos and online activities.

Davis-Monthan Air Force Base and the Arizona Air National Guard's 162nd Wing will honor first responders and civic leaders in Pima County fighting COVID-19 with a flyover today, May 14. The flyover will launch at about 2 p.m. and will last about 40 minutes.
