The curb travel lane on northbound Euclid Avenue, both north and south of Broadway, will be closed to travel beginning on Wednesday, May 20, 2020, at approximately 6 a.m. This travel lane closure will be in place for about 30 days so that crews can construct new underground storm drains as part of the Broadway – Euclid Avenue to Country Club Road Improvement Project. For the safety of the traveling public and work crews, the travel lane closure will be in place 24 hours a day.
Even though Arizona Gov. Doug Ducey let his stay-at-home order expire over the weekend, Tucson Mayor Regina Romero is keeping her emergency declaration for the city in place until early next month. The extension keeps Tucson's park amenities and City buildings closed (excluding Tucson City Court) through June 8.
Tumamoc Hill will reopen to walkers next Monday, May 25, Memorial Day, more than two months after it was closed because of COVID-19 concerns. When it reopens, Tumamoc will have a tightened set of guidelines for those who use it.

Crews from Southern Arizona Paving and Construction Co., under contract with the Tucson Department of Transportation and Mobility (DTM), will begin a crack seal/fog seal program on various roadways throughout the City. During the three-month-long roadway improvement project there will be day and night work. Crews will work Monday through Friday, with occasional weekend work. I got calls at my office from people concerned that Fire Station 21 on Tanque Verde Road and the police department’s air support unit had been or were going to be shut down. Neither is the case right now.

Today, May 15, National Peace Officers Memorial Day, the Tucson Police Department (TPD) remembers fallen officers through a video tribute and thanks the families for their sacrifice. The officers are gone, but never forgotten.
Sun Tran will introduce its first electric bus into service starting Sunday, May 17. The electric bus is powered only by battery and produces zero-emissions, contributing to cleaner and healthier air in Tucson. In addition, it provides a quieter and more comfortable ride for passengers.
