Track and field events will be held Tuesdays, through July 23, at Drachman Stadium, 501 S. Plumer. Road races will be every Thursday, June 6-July 25, at various locations.

The City of Tucson Department of Transportation (TDOT) just kicked off Operation Splash 2019. The program is meant to keep the public safe while traveling on city roads during the upcoming summer thunderstorm season.
Ward 2 Tucson City Council Member Paul Cunningham and his staff will host a town hall on Wednesday, June 5, 6-7:30 p.m., at Eastside City Hall, 7575 E. In coordination with the Presidential proclamation, Governor Ducey has ordered flags at all state buildings be lowered to half-staff immediately until sunset on Tuesday, June 4, 2019 in honor of the victims of the Virginia Beach shooting.
On Saturday, June 8, 2019, Sunland Asphalt, under contract with the City of Tucson Department of Transportation (TDOT), will close the Wilmot Road and Golf Links Road intersection overnight to repave a portion of the intersection.
This project is scheduled to begin Saturday at 8 p.m. and be complete by 8 a.m. Sunday, June 9. The schedule is subject to change due to inclement weather or unforeseen circumstances.
I’d like to start with a reminder that we will be hosting a Ward 2 town hall on June 5 at 6 pm here at the Ward 2 office (doors open at 5:30).

Protecting the traveling public on City streets during Tucson’s summer thunderstorm season is the objective of the Tucson Department of Transportation’s (TDOT) Operation Splash campaign. As weather patterns shift to bring moisture into Tucson, crews from TDOT’s Streets and Traffic Maintenance Division are delivering barricades to hundreds of dip crossings throughout the City.
Beginning Monday, June 3, 2019, through Friday, June 7, 2019, at about 6:30 a.m. each day, TDOT crews will deliver more than 500 barricades to approximately 150 dip crossings throughout the City.
Downtown will host the Meet Me Downtown 5k Night Run/Walk on Saturday, June 1, 2019. The City of Tucson invites kids ages 17 and under to beat the heat at City pools and recreation centers for free this summer. Throughout June and July, youth will pay no admission fee at 13 City of Tucson Parks and Recreation centers during open recreation hours
Due to other center programming, ages 12-17 are permitted after 2 p.m. and ages 7 and up are permitted after 6 p.m. A list of participating recreation centers can be found at www.tucsonaz.gov/parks
Crews from Next Generation Electrical, under contract with the City of Tucson Department of Transportation (TDOT), will work on the following days at the listed intersection locations to replace traffic signal heads with upgraded signals to accommodate flashing yellow left turn arrows.
