The City of Tucson's story map highlights the Adaptive Reuse Program by educating people about adaptive reuse, how the program works, and showcasing good examples in Tucson. Launched in 2017, this pilot program helps encourage reinvestment throughout the city in the form of adaptive reuse of existing buildings.

The 42nd Annual Tucson Pride Festival will be held tomorrow, Sept. 28, noon-9 p.m., at Reid Park, DeMeester Outdoor Performance Center, 22nd Street and Country Road. This year’s theme is "Rise Up," a theme to emphasize the 50th anniversary of the Stonewall Riots and subsequent five decades of progress for the LGBTQ community.

In 2015, with the help of $180,000 in support from Friends of Saguaro National Park, Saguaro National Park replaced the 55-year old interpretive exhibits in the Rincon Mountain Visitor Center with new, bilingual exhibits to help visitors understand the story of Saguaro National Park and appreciate the connection between people and place. Unlike the (newer) Red Hills Visitor Center in the Tucson Mountain District, the Rincon Mountain Visitor Center has no outdoor interpretive space- where rangers can provide interpretive talks to visitors and school groups.

The City of Tucson Transportation Department is planning four neighborhood traffic safety and bicycle boulevard projects. The Michigan/Fair, Cherry, Greenway, and Bantam Bicycle Boulevard projects will expand citywide, low-stress biking and walking networks by creating calmer residential streets.

The Pima Association of Governments (PAG) is seeking volunteers to help conduct its annual bicycle and pedestrian count in October. Volunteers may help with weekday morning (7-9 a.m.) and evening (4-6 p.m.) counts or weekend morning (7-10 a.m.) counts at approximately 80 locations.
Training sessions are scheduled for Monday, Oct. 7, 5-6 p.m. at Himmel Park Library, 1035 N. Treat Ave., and Tuesday, Oct. 8, 5-6 p.m. at Joel D. Valdez Library, 101 N. Stone Ave. The count begins Saturday, Oct. 12.

The 2019 Senior Health Fair is Thursday, Sept. 26, 11 a.m.-1 p.m., at the Morris K. Udall Center, Carol West Senior Addition, 7200 E. Tanque Verde Road.
